Taiwanese film wins five Golden Horse Awards 

But will I gain the courage to watch it?

They say it’s good; however, I’ll have to take their word for it. I was given the opportunity to watch Detention, labelled a “supernatural screamer,” since September. I opened my email at night when the lights were so low in my apartment that just seconds into watching the preview I got so scared I decided that was as much as I could handle. So now I’m reviewing a film that I haven’t watched.

  • New statutory holiday in Canada – September 30, 2021

Orange Shirt Day is based on the story of Phyllis Webstad, a Northern Secwepemc (Shuswap) from the Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation, who was sent to St. Joseph Mission Residential School when she turned six. The shiny new orange shirt she was wearing when she arrived at The Mission was taken away from her and she was forced to wear a uniform. Webstad introduces each video on the Orange Shirt Day website and she tells her own story.
