The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo by Amy Schumer

If Amy Schumer wasn’t so pretty she wouldn’t be this popular. And if she’s this pretty and popular she definitely doesn’t need to take her clothes off to get anyone to pay attention to her, but here she is – Oh Amy – baring it all for the world to see.

In book form that is.  And what she bares is her soul not her body. But, the picture on the cover is pretty sexy. It appears that she is not wearing a thing at all except a demure over-the-shoulder glance, Lady Godiva hair and the letters from the title of her book The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, a humorous take on the novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, falling down her back and landing between her shoulder-blade and her hip bone – still that’s not where the tattoo is. It’s a little lower down.

“Amy’s got your back. She’s in your corner. She’s an honesty bomb. And she’s coming for you,” reads a warning on the cover from actress  and Trainwreck co-star Tilda Swinton.

In Schumer’s latest adventure, she bares it all in words. She shares her stories in the form of a collection of essays, a modern-day memoir made up of stolen moments from her life experiences and observations.

But if you’re looking to her for advice, she says, you’re in the wrong place. “This book contains no wisdom or advice.”

The stories range “from the raucous to the romantic, the heartfelt to the harrowing.” It is the literary equivalent of a night out with your best friend, says the Simon & Schuster employee who wrote the description on the cover.

These stories are about her teenage years, family, relationships, sex, a lust-at-first-sight experience while in the airport security line, admitting to being an introvert, and discovering her cross-fit instructor’s secret bad habit, adds the book-cover writer.

The book-cover writer thinks this will be a great success for the Emmy Award-winning actress-comedian, writer and the creator and star of the testosterone-laced, **bleepin’, feminist skit-show Inside Amy Schumer. (Note: be careful what you click on when you do a search for Inside Amy Schumer – or don’t.)

If Amy Schumer wasn’t so pretty, she would still be your best wing girl, there to tell you when to swipe left or right, be able to hang with the boys and still be herself – braless and laid-back; she would still have the courage and the skill to take the stage and be funny and spontaneous and disarming. And just as popular.

Following the launch of her book on Aug 16, the hilariously funny Schumer makes her way to a handful of US cities: New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Illinois for personal appearances in bookstores for autograph signings as well as a pitstop for a chat on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
