Core Magazines is an online publication that explores the realm of culture in all its forms – pop, counter, social, ethnic culture – from cars to conformity, hip-hop to homogeneity, literary ideas to gender pronouns, breaking down barriers to building self-esteem and celebrating the people who make a difference.

Core Magazines examines social conventions, beliefs and mores from around the world – our differences and our similarities – with a focus on the dynamics of living culture. How do our actions today affect the future? How are we different from the generation that came before us? Does one group’s behaviour define us all? What part of current culture deserves to be shared with the next generation? Why does your story need to be heard? Can one voice change the world? What does the iGeneration need to know?

Who we are
The voices and content expressed here are geographically and culturally diverse, intensely local and very poignant. They are the voices of youth, of resilience, of fearlessness and of experience – of “been there done that,” of “you wouldn’t catch me dead doing that again” and “you just try and stop me”.

Core is a reflection of our diverse social conventions, beliefs and mores viewed through unconventional lens. It is a tool for expression of intimacies, a tunnel into our collective psyche to explore deeper meaning and relevance.

We celebrate our differences here.  We voice our opinions here. We address the questions that you didn’t know how, or even that you wanted to ask, here.

It’s a revolution – from the ground up!

What we believe

We are open to the ideas of our world communities. We are accessible and fair and we uphold high standards and values. We communicate to a wide audience in a way that is inclusive using a mix of explanatory journalistic language and a personal, experiential style. Our purpose is to engage, inform, educate and entertain.

We are fearless and inspiring as a direct reflection of the voices of the people and places we feature in our pages.
