L’Oreal TV commercial and ad campaign underway in Toronto

A L’Oréal TV commercial and print campaign with L’Éloi Productions and Ad Agency is in the works at Neighbourhood Studios in Toronto. Is actress Viola Davis the featured talent in the commercial and advertising campaign?

The advertising campaign is using a Toronto production crew but adds professionals from Montreal and New York to the mix and has talent flown in from across North America.

The set is in a boutique-style studio that looks pristine and extremely high-calibre, the services seem top of the line like something fit for an Emmy and Oscar-winning actress who played former U.S. first lady Michelle Obama, pioneering African American blues musician Ma Rainey, criminal defence attorney Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder, Amanda Waller (The Suicide Squad), or General Nanisca in The Woman King — Viola Davis.

My sources did not reveal confidential information but Davis became the face of L’Oreal Paris starting in 2019, joining actresses Julianne Moore, Susan Sarandon, Andie MacDowell, Eva Laongoria and others on a list of well-known personalities to represent the company as its ambassador. The actress appeared in commercials in different parts of the world throughout the pandemic. For the Show Your Worth campaign Davis appeared in an inspiring video spot telling us that we never depreciate in value. The video integrates the long-time L’Oreal tag line “Because I’m Worth It.”

In the video Davis implores:

“… Forget the naysayers and silence the critics. Even if the harshest words are the ones you say to yourself, do not doubt yourself and this time, speak it louder. Really loud. I’m worth it. … And the next time you go after something you want, the next time you brush off a compliment, the next time you doubt yourself in the world, the workplace, in your home, in your own skin, say these words to yourself. “

I did not publish this at the time it was written a few years ago. I needed to do follow-up research. With my hands full, I had to move on to other stories. That being said, there it is! I hope you agree it was a good guess.

A short time after this was written, Davis made appearances at TIFF to promote The Woman King film. She was likely in town all along, scheduling both events to coincide with each other. You have to admit it is a huge coincidence. Maybe L’Oreal can clarify.
