TIFF signs multi-year partnership deal with Rogers

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) announced yesterday that the company is expanding its relationship with Rogers through a multi-year agreement after the success of their partnership in 2024.

Last year Canada’s largest film festival saw a record-breaking 700,000 attendees and hundreds of filmmakers and stars from around the world. Rogers returns this year as the official presenting partner of the festival and the TIFF People’s Choice Award through to 2027.

TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey says that bringing on Rogers as a partner is ideal as both companies share a similar vision for celebrating Canadian storytelling as well as their commitment to excellence on a global stage.

Securing a partner for the upcoming 50th edition of the festival is also likely top of mind for TIFF.

The three-year deal will carry forward the momentum of the 2024 festival to the 50th edition later this year (Sept. 4 -14, 2025).

Rogers CEO Tony Staffieri looks forward to continuing the successful partnership into TIFF’s upcoming landmark 50th edition. The company has the capacity to follow-through with production plans, and the distribution network in place to deliver content to audiences across the country as well as in Toronto where the festival is held.

With the extended partnership in place, TIFF and Rogers will work together to create a new original content series with TIFF’s in-house Studio 9 production team.

As well, the deal will see Rogers develop and produce a TIFF 50th anniversary special for television to be aired exclusively on Citytv, a popular network of TV stations owned by Rogers.

Rogers customers will have access to VIP red carpet experiences through Rogers Beyond the Seat, similar to the Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour series of concerts that took place in Vancouver and Toronto where fans received free tickets to shows. Th program also allows access to artists and athletes such as Connor McDavid, the cast of Citytv’s Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent and the panel of judges from Canada’s Got Talent.

As Rogers owns multiple other TV networks, internet, mobile companies, and local live performance venues, they have the capacity to deliver events for TIFF throughout the year and for the main festival in September.
