Lzzy Hale’s “Dirty Work” D.I.Y. Recipes Straight from Her Diary
Hale’s “Lady Evil” insignia on her diary, The Diary of Lzzy Hale, seems ominous and even downright scary until you open its pages. Well, Lady Evil gives some great natural skin and haircare tips.
When you open the pages of her diary you find a voice of compassion, acceptance and inclusion. She speaks against hatred and tells people to be strong, to love themselves, and not to give into their dark side, even if the “evil” monstrous voice inside tells them that they’re not good enough.
What else is in Hale’s diary? Well, she talks about skincare and even shares her recipes for making her own products. No “Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog.”
Hale gets personal, telling people about her concoctions to prevent dry skin and split ends. She had to create her own potions when drugstore brands made her skin break out.
“I’ve been a DIY-er for many years,” writes Hale. “I make my own deodorant, face and body oils, toothpaste, masks, moisturizer, shampoo, sunscreen, perfume, conditioner, styling spray, make up remover and have even dabbled in crafting my own makeup from scratch on occasion.”
No incantations of “Double, double toil and trouble. Fire burn, cauldron bubble.” Well, so much for “Lady Evil”.

Hair and body “shower powder”.
I don’t use shampoo or soap anymore either. But that doesn’t mean I’m a dirty girl…( well, on the outside).
1 shaker container of baking soda, scented with drops of rosemary oil or sometimes lemongrass oil.
When I’m in the shower I will use this on my body, and scrub a bit onto my scalp.
Rinse. Done!
That was until her friend Rachel Bolan from Skid Row sent her a sample of his Dirty Rocker Soap, which she adores.
She seems nice but you may still not want to cross her for fear of her seven inch spike heels. She can be vicious.
