DaBaby brings resources to students via mental health partnership

Hip-hop artist Jonathan “DaBaby” Kirk’s charitable work presents another side of the musician than the image we’re used to seeing in his videos.

The rapper recently hosted the fourth annual Kirk Pole holiday giveback event at a high school in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. He partnered with local organizations to provide essential holiday resources to the community.

The event featured a live performance by the North Carolina Panthers drumline and resources from the National Alliance of Mental Illness of Charlotte.

To honour his late brother, Glenn Johnson, who lost his life to suicide, the musician launched DaBaby Cares in 2024 to raise awareness and break the stigma associated with mental health challenges for young people and their families.

DaBaby Cares recently announced a one-year partnership with Mental Health America of Central Carolinas at the first-ever Youth Town Hall at West Charlotte High School. Over 200 students received vital mental health information and can now access a Youth Mental Health 101 Resource Guide available to download for free online.

The digital single release from DaBaby featuring Yung Miami is called I’m a Hoe Too.
