Legendary African American label Motown Records is working with international technology giant Google to amplify underrepresented voices and remove barriers for creatives in the entertainment industry. 

Through The Motown Records Creator Program Supported by Google one person will get the chance to work with Motown Records executives and artists during a five-month immersive program. They will also get to highlight the legacy of female voices on the label through a company project that focuses on women in music.

The Motown creator program offers an opportunity to a woman content creator, videographer, or creative producer/director to work with Motown executives and their decades-long list of recording artists, and more recent ones to join the label like British singer Tiana Major9.

Tiana Major9 is one of the voices behind the song Collide from the Queen & Slim movie soundtrack. She’s currently on tour across the U.S. and Canada supporting Jazmine Sullivan since mid-February until the end of March.

The successful creator will be working with leaders of the label to commission and create video content that will tell the story of the women of Motown Records, led by chairwoman and CEO Ethiopia Habtemariam. They will get access to the label’s roster of musicians, $10,000 in cash and a collection of Google swag. Check the guidelines to apply for The Motown Records Creator Program Supported by Google.
