Did anyone call the Guinness Book of World Records on this one? Walk Off The Earth and Amazon Music are hosting a livestream performance from the top of the world record-breaking heights of one of the most recognized buildings in the world.
Fresh off the release of their new album, JUNO Award-winning indie pop band Walk Off The Earth is working with Amazon Music for an exclusive one-of-a-kind performance to be live-streamed on Amazon Music’s Twitch channel on Monday, August 9th at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. EDT (New York, Toronto).
This livestream marks the first performance of the band’s just released sixth studio album, Meet You There.
Walk Off The Earth share, “Getting the chance to do our thing nearly 1200 feet in the sky with the entire city of Toronto as our backdrop is something that we’ll never forget, and being able to sing out on the EdgeWalk. … We’re thrilled to introduce Meet You There to the world and to share this exclusive 7-song performance in partnership with Twitch and Amazon Music.”
Meet You There includes the new radio single Love You Right featuring GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum-selling Danish pop group Lukas Graham as well as Nicknames with gnash, which spent more than 20 weeks at the top of Canadian radio charts, and previously released standouts Oh What A Feeling, this is love, Farther We Go, Anthem, and How it is.
Since 2020, Walk Off the Earth has released a series of original singles, surpassed one billion views on YouTube, partnered with Pokémon with the infectious theme song The Journey Starts Today for the Pokémon Journeys series, recorded the dish-breaking a cappella version of the NHL Hockey Anthem for Pepsi Canada, and earned two major JUNO Award nominations in the Group of the Year and Pop Album of the Year categories following up on their 2019 number one charting album HERE WE GO!
The HERE WE GO! LP debuted at No. 1 in the U.S. on Nielsen’s Pop Albums chart and yielded the Platinum-certified radio hit I’ll Be There, which peaked at No. 25 on U.S. Hot Adult Contemporary (AC) radio and spent 20 consecutive weeks inside the Top 10 of Canada’s Hot AC radio chart.
The band first gained worldwide attention with their five-people-playing-one-guitar rendition of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used to Know, which exploded on YouTube.
