Rebecca King-Crews has appeared alongside her husband on red carpets and co-starred on The Family Crews reality television series. Crews has been in the background of her actor and former professional football playing husband Terry Crews for years, but what most people may not know is that Rebecca is a musician. Even fewer people know that Rebecca performs under another identity, which she purposefully kept a secret until now.
You may recognize her husband Terry Crews (The Expendables, Blended, White Chicks) from the TV comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Are We There Yet?, in which he plays a charming but awkward football player, husband and dad, or from another popular TV comedy series Everybody Hates Chris. He hosted the game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, America’s Got Talent and starred in the BET reality series The Family Crews, where the whole family was put under a spotlight.
Although Terry has a personality that takes over the entire room, his wife Rebecca can certainly hold her own. With African American physical features and platinum blond hair, sometimes cut and styled into a wide mohawk, or dyed bubblegum pink, it’s impossible to ignore her when she walks into a room.
As a couple they will remind you of Sylvester Stallone and Brigitte Nielsen or Ice-T and Coco Austen. Both personalities commanding your attention.
What’s interesting about this story is that Rebecca, who is known primarily as Terry Crews’ wife in public, has her own career in the arts and entertainment industry. She was not hiding the fact that she sings. She was, however, keeping her artistic identity a secret. Rebecca recently revealed that she performs under the pseudonym Regina Madre, which means “Queen Mother.”
Rebecca says she deliberately kept an air of anonymity around her music career to let her voice stand on its own, completely independent from her husband’s career.
