Nasir al-Din Shah was fascinated by the new medium of photography, and had the Tehran photographer Antoin Sevruguin take this photograph in the Hall of Mirrors at the Golestan Palace. It shows the Shah at his desk — and the photographer himself, reflected in the mirror.
