Fatal shooting of Migos’ rapper Takeoff started with a disagreement, not over a dice game, witness says

It seems like gun violence will never end in America. Early this morning rapper Takeoff became the latest victim to lose his life to a bullet.

The rapper, of the hip hop group Migos with his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset, was fatally wounded at a gathering in a bowling alley in Houston, Texas on November 1. The Associated Press said that a representative confirmed his death.

It was reported that two others were taken to hospital in private vehicles but it isn’t clear who those individuals are.

There are speculations that Takeoff was shot by someone who was invited to a “private event,” according to Houston police, that the “disagreement” was over a dice game between Quavo and someone else.

Takeoff was the youngest member of the Migos trio at only 28 years old. Fans say that he was quiet and stayed away from drama.

In a 2018 SNL skit called Friendos (Donald Glover, Chris Redd, Kenan Thompson) where the group goes to therapy with Dr. Angela (Cecily Strong) to help them work on their friendship is an all-time favourite. The skit parodied the relationship between Migos’ members that ended up in a group hug.

All three members grew up together. They attained music industry success together with the song Versace in 2013, followed by Bad and Boujee four years later. Their second album Culture reached number one on the charts.

Takeoff released a solo album four years ago this month. Offset would become the father of Cardi B’s children.

The shooting happened outside a billiard and bowling business on Halloween night around 2:30 a.m., officially Nov. 1. Police are asking for people to come forward, “step up,” with information.

Stop just pulling the trigger, says the Houston Police Chief. Calm yourselves down and respond peacefully to situations instead of reaching for a gun.

This witness has additional information or a different take on the incident.

They said, Quavo was losing at dice and he “tried getting aggressive with the wrong mob ties n*gga (not gone [going to] drop names) and dude got his ass then somebody they was with jumped up and that’s when  everybody bunched up then shots just start ringing but they were coming from somebody Migos was with but he was shooting wild and hit takeoff on accident and the other n*ggas start shooting back and I think he got hit again but ultimately his own n*ggas killed him cause when he got hit the first time I seen his body just drop.”

Consciouz Tv said that the fight was over a $7,000 dice game.

Someone else said they witnessed an argument over something else – “it wasn’t dice” and then “somebody threw a punch” before the shots were fired.

In a new video circulating, Quavo said, “Let’s go,” while outside the billiards and bowling venue at the mini-mall in Houston, and then someone hit him. Shots were fired soon after.

The video below is probably experiencing high traffic. It’s the official music video for Messy with Quavo and Takeoff.
