Who was there?

Industry producers and creators at Sundance mixed and mingled with members of the Indie Director’s and Creator’s Spotlight industry panels from earlier in the day, including Emmy-nominated actress, NAACP Image Award-winner and bestselling author Tabitha Brown, director Matty Rich (The Cure, The Inkwell, Straight Out of Brooklyn), NAACP Award-winning actress Wendy Raquel Robinson (The Steve Harvey Show, Grand Hotel, The Game) who also recently starred in some great holiday movies, and award-winning actress/producer/director Vanessa Estelle Williams (Soul Food, New Jack City).

Who performed at the event?

After a full day of industry panels and networking events at the film festival, attendees were ready for a relaxing evening. The Indie Director’s and Creator’s Spotlight zone transformed into a neo soul lounge with DJ Q-Nice live on deck and sultry performances by award-winning R&B artists Sha’Leah NikoleAlfred JacksonKeith Robinson, and three-time Grammy Award-nominated R&B/neo soul singer Angie Stone for an invitation-only evening gathering. Sha’Leah Nikole is highlighted above in a photo onstage during her live performance at The Cabin on Main Street, also known as The Lodge, at Sundance.

What was the theme of the party?

Producer Ericka Nicole Malone, through her entertainment company that organized the event, opted for an intimate yet elegant experience — which is nice but may have been a little bit posh-glam for Utah. The space was decorated in an art deco motif featuring chandeliers, candles, furs, fragrant florals, white leather furniture, shag carpets, gold statement pieces and black and gold accents.

What was on the menu?

Guests were entertained with music and treated to free-flowing signature cocktails, mocktails, warm beverages, and rotational fare such as Mediterranean bowls, gourmet vegan and beef sliders, chicken wings, and Caprese bites.

What was in the goody bag?

Everyone wants to know what was in the goody bag. Brands such as Tabitha Brown Organic Popcorn and Sunshine Seasoning, Obali Cool Coffee cliques, RAD8 Collagen Sparkling Tea, Wordy Girl Essentials luxury candles, House of Broadnax Beauty, MediTEAtions Manifest LOVE and Detox blends were included in the gift bags for attendees.
